# Itsypin

> Itsypin is a lightweight, free macOS menu bar app for quick access to pinned websites. It opens any site in a floating popover window or as an always-visible bubble on the screen edge – one click, hover, or global hotkey away, with no browser switching. Free on the Mac App Store, via Homebrew, and on GitHub.

## What Itsypin does

Itsypin lives in the macOS menu bar and keeps your most-used websites (ChatGPT, Claude, WhatsApp, Netflix, dashboards, docs – any URL) one action away:

- Menu bar: click the pin icon in the status bar and pick a site; it opens right there in a popover window.
- Floating bubbles: pin sites as small always-visible bubbles on the right or bottom screen edge. Hovering expands a bubble into a full browser window; moving the cursor away collapses it again.
- Global hotkeys: open any site with a custom keyboard shortcut, or by triple-tapping a modifier key (for example ⌥⌥⌥ or ⌘⌘⌘). No Accessibility permission required.

## Platforms and requirements

- Mac only: macOS 13 (Ventura) or later.
- Web content is rendered by Apple's WebKit (WKWebView), the same engine as Safari.

- Open in browser – right-click any link or page to open it in the default browser.
- Launch at login.

## Privacy

- No telemetry, no analytics, no ads, no accounts.
- Pinned sites and settings are stored locally on the Mac.
- No server-side component: the only network activity is loading the sites you pin and fetching their favicons.
- Website data (cookies, caches, local storage) is managed by Apple's WebKit, as in Safari.

## Common questions

**Is Itsypin a browser?** No. It is a menu bar utility that displays websites in floating WebKit windows. Your default browser stays untouched, and any link can be handed off to it.

**How is it different from keeping browser tabs open?** Sites open instantly from the menu bar, a bubble, or a hotkey without switching apps or hunting for tabs; pages keep their state between opens; and bubbles stay visible on the screen edge while you work in other apps.

**Does it work with ChatGPT and Claude?** Yes – they are the default pinned sites (Claude on triple-tap ⌥, ChatGPT as a floating bubble on triple-tap ⌘). Any website works.
