Is Itsypin a browser?
No. Itsypin is a menu bar utility that displays websites in floating windows rendered by Apple's WebKit, the same engine as Safari. Your default browser stays untouched, and you can right-click any link or page to hand it off to the browser.
How is Itsypin different from keeping browser tabs open?
Pinned sites open instantly from the menu bar, a bubble, or a hotkey without switching apps or hunting through tabs. Pages keep their state between opens, and bubbles stay visible on the screen edge while you work in other apps.
Does Itsypin work with ChatGPT and Claude?
Yes. Claude and ChatGPT are the default pinned sites – Claude opens from the menu bar with triple-tap ⌥, and ChatGPT is a floating bubble with triple-tap ⌘. Any website works: WhatsApp, Notion, Netflix, dashboards, or anything else with a URL.
Which Macs does Itsypin support?
Itsypin requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later and runs on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. It is available on the Mac App Store, via Homebrew (brew install --cask nickustinov/tap/itsypin), and as a DMG from GitHub.
How do I open a pinned site quickly?
Three ways: click the menu bar icon and pick a site, hover over a floating bubble to expand it, or press a global hotkey. You can also triple-tap a modifier key, for example ⌥⌥⌥, to open a site instantly.
What are floating bubbles?
Bubbles are small always-visible circles pinned to the right or bottom edge of your screen, showing the site's favicon or a live page preview. Hovering expands a bubble into a full browser window; moving away collapses it again.
Does Itsypin need Accessibility permission?
No. Global hotkeys work without Accessibility permission, and the app requests nothing beyond normal network access to load the sites you pin.
Is my data private?
Yes. Itsypin has no telemetry, no analytics, and no ads. Your pinned sites and settings are stored locally on your Mac, and web content is rendered by Apple's WebKit just like in Safari.
