Frequently asked questions
Is Itsypin free?
Yes. Itsypin is completely free on the Mac App Store, via Homebrew, and on GitHub. It is open source under the MIT licence.
What is Itsypin?
Itsypin is a lightweight macOS menu bar app for quick access to pinned websites. It opens sites in floating popover windows or as always-visible bubbles on the screen edge, so you never have to switch to a browser.
How do I open a pinned site quickly?
Three ways: click the menu bar icon and pick a site, hover over a floating bubble to expand it, or press a global hotkey. You can also triple-tap a modifier key, for example ⌥⌥⌥, to open a site instantly.
What are floating bubbles?
Bubbles are small always-visible circles pinned to the right or bottom edge of your screen, showing the site's favicon or a live page preview. Hovering expands a bubble into a full browser window; moving away collapses it again.
Does Itsypin need Accessibility permission?
No. Global hotkeys work without Accessibility permission, and the app requests nothing beyond normal network access to load the sites you pin.
Is my data private?
Yes. Itsypin has no telemetry, no analytics, and no ads. Your pinned sites and settings are stored locally on your Mac, and web content is rendered by Apple's WebKit just like in Safari.
